Sculpting a Character
This course is divided into 4 modules. Each module has a set of pre-recorded high definition videos with different learning objectives. Each module of Character Sculpting in ZBrush is defined in-depth below.
This online course starts with a brief introduction of your mentor’s history and the background of his client pool. Also, he shares with you the brief introduction of ZBrush, a 3D sculpting software. Including its application in next-gen game development and animated films, he will tell you some other industries that might be of your interest. Proceeding with the course requirements, he will explain to you further the interface of ZBrush. Addressing all the essential tools that will be necessary for the course, Saad Irfan will demonstrate the use of brushes and other significant tools.
Your mentor will now teach you how one should start his or her project from scratch. He will then proceed to explain to you different techniques to start your project in ZBrush. Firstly, you’ll learn to shape your character’s face using different tools in the software. Using a similar approach, students will be educated to build the bodies of their characters. Once you shape out your 3D character’s face and body, it will be time to add some details to its face and body. In particular, practicing Dynamesh will be the paramount subject to study.
With your face and body outlined perfectly, you will learn to add finishing touches to your character. This will include detailing the face, body, and hair. You will also learn to add colors according to your personality and the appearance of your character. Throughout the module, several brushes will be brought under utilization, and you’ll be briefed regarding each’s significance.
As the name suggests, a detailed discussion will be given for a quick rendering of your complete character sculpture. Apart from traditional software, the ZBrush’s rendering has several distinguished features. Many of these will include a brief introduction, whereas most of the BPR passes will be discussed in detail. All of these renders will then be imported into Adobe Photoshop for compositing. This process is done to achieve a rich and dynamic output.
